Our research...

The IMI carries out fundamental research to understand the nature of psi phenomena and the implications of psi for physical theory, consciousness and human well-being. Research projects typically run a few years and results are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Our work has been funded by the Bial Foundation, the Society for Psychical Research, the Institute of Noetic Sciences and private benefactors. The Psi@Home project is currently funded by a Bial grant.

Psi@Home

Psi experiments are usually done in laboratory settings with volunteer participants. However, the necessity of traveling to the lab limits who can participate in experiments. The Psi@Home project uses a downloadable app that allows people to participate in psi experiments in their own home, at any location and at any time.  Click here to learn about participating in the Psi@Home project ...

Psi and Quantum Entanglement

A crucial question in psi research is whether psi is describable by quantum theory, or instead demands a fundamental revision of this most successful theory of physics. A recent experiment at the IMI, in collaboration with the California-based Institute of Noetic Science seeks an answer to this puzzle. Learn more ...

The Selfield: A precognition protocol

IMI has developed a protocol – named the Selfield – to test precognition in an immersive and psi-conducive environment. Several studies have been completed and the results suggest that sub-groups of participants, such as advanced meditators may have a particular aptitude for precognitive intuition. The Selfield is currently being used in the Psi@Home project. Learn more ...
